Kachina

Low content coydog

Born: February 2009

In mid November 2009 we were contacted about this little girl. She had been captured by animal control as she was running the streets of Pryor, Oklahoma with a couple of weimeraners. Pryor has an ordinace that does not allow for wolfdogs or coydogs to be adopted out through their animal shelter. Consequently Kachina's only option was animal sanctuary or euthanasia. One of the shelter's officers went the extra mile to find her a home.

Just before Thanksgiving we went to Oklahoma to transport Kachina home. We found her to be on the thin side after all that running around town trying to keep up with the big dogs. She was also full of parasites, but we got that under control quickly and in no time Kachina was putting on weight and growing a healthy coat.

Eventually she was introduced to her new mate, Trickster and the play began! Those two never stop. Trickster dotes on his girl and she loves to instigate trouble with him.
