Fogerty

Extremely Low content wolfdog

Born: 8-10-07

In September, 2007 the Nebraska Humane Society asked for our help in placing a number of animals that had been confiscated from a backyard breeder nearby. They had 50 dogs, wolfdogs and a bobcat all in need of homes. Once the breeder was convicted, the judge signed over the ownership of all the animals to the Humane Society. They quickly arranged for transport and we took in six very low content Great Pyrenees-Malamute-wolf mix puppies from two different litters.

Fogerty was the biggest of his litter and showed many of the Pyrenees and Malamute physical traits rather than the wolf. Most of these little balls of fur found homes immediately. In fact, Fogerty was the first to be placed into his new home at eight weeks old.

Fogerty became quite large and proved to be a bit difficult to train. His rambunctious attitude became a problem in his new family and by the time he was a year old he was returned to Indigo Mountain when his owner had medical issues that made it difficult to handle him.

We are currently working on obedience and behavior modification and hope to make him adoptable soon.
