Satank and her sister, Mahto were born at a refuge in Colorado in 1999. They were subsequently loaned to an individual in Nevada for wildlife educational programs. When it was time to send the bears back, the refuge was having some difficulties that made the transfer impossible. A year later we were asked to give them a permanent home.
Satank tends to be slightly more nervous and a little less trusting of people than her sister. She is very playful and extremely intelligent.
