Mahto

Mahto and her sister, Satank were born at a refuge in Colorado in 1999. They were subsequently loaned to an individual in Nevada for wildlife educational programs. When it was time to send the bears back, the refuge was having some difficulties that made the transfer impossible. A year later we were asked to give them a permanent home.

Today, Mahto is a mature, sweet natured, docile black bear who loves nothing more than playing in her pool and disassembling her toys... and eating.
