| | | | Social: Social animals should be housed with cage mates, while more solitary animals may choose to live alone. In some cases these solitary animals benefit from having the same species in an enclosure adjacent to their habitat. We have found that even some solitary mammals such as black bear, enjoy a cage mate. Because the animals are spayed and neutered and their food requirements are easily met, these animals enjoy the interaction with no fighting or squabbles.
